Chainsaw Man” tells the story of Denji, a young and broke devil hunter drowning in debt from his late father. Denji works relentlessly hunting devils with his pet devil, Pochita, who happens to incarnate as a chainsaw on Denji’s body, to settle his debts and survive.

When Denji gets betrayed and killed in a horrific event, he makes a contract and joins forces with Pochita to become the titular Chainsaw Man, earning enormous power. The Public Safety Devil Hunters recruit him to become a professional devil hunter. Secondly, he makes new friendships with fellow devil hunters such as Power, a devil in human form; Aki, a seasoned and stoic devil hunter; Kobeni; and Himeno.

All of the Publis Safety Devil Hunters members fight together against the likes of the Bat Devil, Ghost Devil, and Katana Man. The main goal for Denji and his crew is to find the Gun Devil.

The story explores survival, friendship, and grappling with the duality of human and devil nature.

The first season of the anime adapts the initial arcs of the manga, focusing on Denji’s struggles, his encounters with various devils, and the bonds he forms with other characters.

What will happen in Chainsaw Man Season Two?

Season one ended with Denji and his crew becoming closer to finding the Gun Devil after defeating the Snake Devil and the Katana Man. Many fans became curious after the appearance of the mysterious, dark-haired woman at the end. Especially after her quote, “Between the country mouse and the city mouse, which would you rather be?”

The Chainsaw Man manga is ongoing, so there are many manga chapters left to get animated for season 2. Tatsuki Fujimoto, the creator of Chainsaw Man, continues to release new manga volumes every week. So arcs like the Bomb Girl Arc and International Assassins Arc have a chance to get animated for season two

The anime series debuted on October 12, 2022, and became more popular after every episode release. But fans seem to speculate when the second season begins to air—at least not in 2023 anymore.

There are high hopes that Chainsaw Man season 2 will return in 2024, especially after the announcement that new information about the series will be released on December 17th, 2023.

This makes sense because Studio Mappa will have finished the second seasons of Vinland Saga, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Attack on Titan by then.

So the release date for Chainsaw Man season 2 is most likely in 2024.
