Solo Leveling
Solo Leveling took the anime world by storm and is a clear-cut candidate for the 2024 anime of the year award. The opinions around it from Manhwa fans before its release had fans suspicious. Nevertheless, the main character, Sung-Jin Woo, became a fan-favorite only after a couple of episodes. Solo Leveling combines fantasy with video game-type elements like leveling up and daily quests.
The stunning animation in each episode brings to life the gripping story of Sung Jin-Woo, an E-rank Hunter who is barely stronger than a normal human.
His fortune turns when he stumbles upon a secret dungeon with deadly challenges that astonishingly make him a “player,” allowing him to level up in strength and skills in a world where magical beasts and monstrous dungeons are a dangerous reality.
By “leveling up” Sung Jin-Woo grows from the weakest to one of the most powerful characters in the Solo Leveling verse.
Season 2 is already confirmed to air in 2025 and the recordings for this upcoming season have finished today.

Wind Breaker
Wind Breaker is another new anime of Crunchyroll and these adolescents sure showcase their fighting skills. You can expect nothing that has to do with magic whatsoever, just straight hands and martial arts. Maybe you already watched Tokyo Revengers and noticed many similarities, but Wind Breaker hits differently.
Windbreaker follows Haruka Sakura, a youngster known for his fighting skills who even fights multiple dudes at once. He transfers to Furin High School, an infamous school with many student gang members. They all have the same goal in mind: becoming the school’s top student, which means being the strongest.
Haruka Sakura stands out because of his half-white half-black hair and heterochromia eyes. He also does not know what having a true friend is. During his childhood, Haruka was led to believe that true strength only comes from overpowering another. That is why he always fights with whoever because winning a fight means strength to him. But his view changes after gang members of Bofurin fight against thugs who tried to threaten their area.
After Haruka joins Bofurin, he comes to understand what true strength means instead of just kicking someone’s ass. Wind Breaker does a great job of showcasing deeper meanings to inspire people, and in this case, gang members even though it is mainly about fighting.
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is the ultimate fantasy anime series and it is a great recommendation for anyone who watches anime. The story follows the elf Frierien, she is a powerful mage who has been around for centuries and has experienced many adventures with parties of people. They even defeated the strongest evil monster from their land altogether.
As cool as this sounds, Frieren finds herself struggling with the fact that she watches everyone around her pass away and realizes she does not have a deep bond with any of them. She goes on a journey to reunite with her deceased party members in the resting place of souls.
While the many magic types in Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End are amazing to see, the series dives deeper into the essence of Frieren’s loneliness. You can find out for yourself on Crunchyroll why this series is among the top anime of 2024.

Sand Land
Sans Land is another masterpiece from Akira Toriyama and has to be one of the most exciting new anime releases in 2024. If you don’t know who Akira Toriyama is, well, he is the creator of the incredible Dragon Ball series. You see a mix of animation and CGI, but this gives the series another spark and more humor. Keep in mind that this is the last work of Akira Toriyama, so appreciate greatness.
Picture this: a wasteland called Sand Land where water is more precious than gold. This single-volume manga finally gets a worthy anime adaptation.
The story follows Rao, an older sheriff who goes on a quest in a special desert where he pursues a mythical spring that can save his town from drought. BUCCHIGIRI?!
Bucchigiri has the same director as Sk8 the Infinity, so we can expect another great anime series from director Hiroko Utsumi. This is a fantasy comedy anime series that follows Araji Tomobishi, a young student who loves martial arts. He transfers to Ichizu High, and this school is filled with lawbreakers. Even worse, a powerful genie possesses Araji, and because of this newfound power Araji enters the strongest gang in his school.
But all he actually wants is to share the bed with a woman, but instead, he just picks fights with people. So now Araji continues to find himself in more risky and dangerous situations because of this.
Worse yet, he gets possessed by a powerful genie whose power inadvertently pits him between two of the strongest gangs in his school. To top it off, the poor guy just wants to lose his virginity, and instead, he just ends up accidentally punching people, getting himself into increasingly deadlier and more precarious situations. This is your anime to watch if you enjoy unique battles, action, and want to laugh.

Bartender Glass of God
Bartender Glass of God is your pick if you need some relaxation after a long day at work. We don’t advocate drinking alcohol, but you will understand that this anime series flawlessly shows the concept behind a bartender and alcohol.
The story follows Ryu Sasukara, a masterful bartender at Eden Hall who makes drinks with expertise and passion. We witness his life from up-close and you get a nice feeling as if you are also there. Continuely having conversations with new customers and we see him creating their drink to perfection. No matter what is going on in your life, you can lay it all out at the bar and share your story with Ryu.
The high-quality animation adds to the experience when Ryu shows off his skills when making these cocktails. Its as if you are there at the bar ordering these drinks, add a small block of ice, a nice stir, and enjoy.
A Sign of Affection
A romance anime series just has a different impact on an individual than an action anime, and A Sign of Affection is another reason why. The story follows Yuki Itose, a deaf female college student who falls in love with her classmate, Itsuomi Nagi. She falls in love with him after only one encounter, and this sparks a newfound love story. Even though expressing each other’s feelings might be difficult at first, they get the job done through sign language.
He might seem a bit distant at first, but the feelings are mutual, and the series quickly settles into depicting their relationship as they both navigate how to express their feelings toward one another.
This story follows two adults, so it is easier to fully commit to the story, as it seems more realistic. But the most beautiful part of this unexpected romance is the level of growth we witness in their relationship. Yuki is deaf, and therefore Itsuomi has to enter a new world with sign language, which is very interesting to watch.
