Storyline and Plot of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero: What is the story all about?

The story of the new Dragon Ball Super movie takes place a year before the End of the Z saga.
This is because Pan is three years old in the new movie. This new anime movie is all going to be about superhero vibes, as stated by executive producer Akiyo Ikoyu. He wants to emphasize giving viewers the feeling of watching a story about a superhero.

The previous Dragon Ball Super Broly movie highlighted Goku, Vegeta, and Broly, and characters like Gohan, Piccolo, and others had no impact on the movie whatsoever.

Gohan

Gohan wears a dark blue gi with a red sash, as this is part of his new design for the film. He now appears as a much more stronger and serious version of himself. Gohan wears a different gi than during the Dragon Ball Super series. This design is the same as Gohan during the Cell Saga, although Gohan is older now.

Piccolo

Piccolo’s design for the Super Hero film consists of him wearing his traditional dark purple gi with a red sash. Secondly, we see him wearing his white headband and white weighted clothing. The golden glow on the first image of Piccolo might be a teaser of his potential new form.

Pan

Pan,s character design got revealed during the NYCC 2021, and the upper image is from the latest trailer of the Dragon Ball Super Hero film. The upper image of Pan’s character design is a bit different than her first design. She wears red training gloves with a casual white and black t-shirt.

This outfit suits her better for training and battles.

You see Pan wearing a blue school uniform with a white blouse in the lower image. This outfit also consists of a matching blue hat and a black shoulder bag along with black shoes.

Krillin

The character design for Krillin in the new film displays a police uniform for his job. Krillin’s uniform consists of a purple jacket with a golden police badge on his heart.
The lower part of his uniform is yellow pants along with dark grey safety boots. He also wears a white helmet with blue letters in the middle that spell “police”. Krillin uses a hoverbike when working.

Vegeta

Vegeta’s design is different than his Dragon Ball Super design. He now wears his dark blue training clothing, similar to his design near the end of Dragon Ball GT.

Gamma 1 and Gamma 2

Gamma 1 and Gamma 2 are the new “villain’ androids from the Red Ribbon Army. Their character designs are almost the same, except for a couple of details. Both have their number 1 and 2 in the middle of their chest.

Gamma 1 in red and Gamma 2 in blue, as of the rest of the colors of their outfit. Both wear an orange jacket and pants with silver knobs.

Secondly, they both wear capes in their respective colors red and blue. Gamma 1 and 2 have mixed dark grey colors because of their metal structure.

Gamma1 has only one vin in the middle of his head while Gamma 2 has two vins on the outer parts of his head. Both wear a unique gun that they carry on their right hip in red and blue. Both wear long black boots.

Goku

Goku wears his traditional outfit and his design is similar to his Dragon Ball Super design.

Dende

Dende comes back to Dragon Ball again, and he has his original design again. His cloak is black colored now, although Dende wore blue and red in previous times.

Korin

Korin’s new design is created by none other than the one and only Akira Toriyama.

Bulma

Bulma’s design shows her wearing a yellow jacket and pants with a black long-sleeved shirt underneath. She wears safety clothes because she is in her lab most of the time. Bulma also wears orange boots.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Trailer 1

The first trailer of the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie got released by Toei Animation on October 8, 2021.

At New York Comic-Con 2021, the Dragon Ball Super panel revealed the first trailer for Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, teasing a new crisis and evil organization from the shadows. The trailer featured 3D animations and gave us a glimpse at the new alien characters, including Gamma 1 and 2 as well as the return of Broly.

The trailer also shows a powered-up Pan, so we might see Gohan and Videl’s daughter unleash her Super Saiyan powers in the movie.

What is the release date of the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie?

The release date for the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero film got revealed during the end of their promotional trailer. The creators of this project confirmed at the anime NYCC 2021 that the movie airs in 2022. Although the release dates may differ per country.

The plan for this upcoming anime movie is to air it in Japan first and then in other countries. This also happened with the Jujutsu Kaisen: 0 movie.

The original release date of the movie before March 18 was scheduled for April 22, 2022. This release date was also got confirmed by the creators and by Toei Animation. You can see this in both the trailers of the  Dragon Super: Super Hero film.

However, Toei Animation released a statement on March 18, 2022, that the planned release date is postponed due to an unknown hack in the company.

The cause of the hack remains unknown as of now. More clarity and information will be shared about this manner when possible.

The new official release date of the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie is June 11, 2022.
